Awaawaroa Bay Eco Village Open Day - Ecofest

Waiheke Curious about intentional communities and living lightly? Come along to the Awaawaroa Bay Eco Village Open Day for a day of talks, walks, and workshops exploring two ara (paths) of eco-village life: our relationship with the land and with the people who live upon it. The day begins with a presentation and Q&A about the Eco Village, followed by morning tea; this portion of the event is free thanks to support from the Neighbours Day programme. After morning tea, participants can choose from a range of workshops, including raranga/weaving, keeping a house cow, garden goddesses, and more. Please bring your own picnic lunch. After lunch, you’re invited on a guided walk to explore the gardens, wetlands, and earthbrick homes, with the day finishing at around 3 pm. Please note that Awaawaroa Bay is a bird sanctuary, and no dogs are permitted on the land. This event is part of EcoFest, an annual month-long festival taking place Saturday 22 March – Tuesday 22 April 2026.
