If you are a wiz at baking or cooking we would appreciate your skills. Using good quality rescued ingredients to create cakes, muffins, chutneys or jams for our charities groups so they can be distributed out into the community to ensure we "feed people, not landfill". Instead of this food being dumped, it's doing good. Last year we rescued enough surplus food to provide the equivalent of over 1.8 million nutritious meals for our community, saving food that would otherwise go to landfill! We can’t do all this good work without the hands-on help of kind and committed volunteers. Our volunteering shift is Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 12pm. If you're keen to become a volunteer food rescue superhero, please get in touch - and feel free to get a friend or friends to do the same and carpool! There is plenty of parking at our Hub on Rosebank Road, Avondale as well as a bus stop outside the door and space in our Hub for your scooter or bike. We provide hi-vis vests and an apron, do an on-site in-person induction on your first day, and advise volunteers to tie back long hair, wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes and close-toed shoes. Email us at volunteering@fairfood.org.nz for more information! We hope to hear from you soon! info@fairfood.org.nz
